Hot on the heels of the new 2012 911 Carrera, Porsche has released details on the new 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 R for its racing customers.
What changes did the Porsche 911 GT3 R receive for the 2012 model year? An increase of 20-hp for a total of 500-hp, paddle-shifters on the steering wheel, upgraded transmission electronics featuring an automatic throttle blip control and a softer anti-roll bar on the front axle reduces understeer.
The 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 R will begin delivery to teams around the world in November 2011. Prices start at 304,500 Euro ($432,678 USD) Porsche says that the 911 GT3 R from the 2010 and 2011 model years can also be upgraded to the 2012-spec. The upgrade kit will cost 43,100 Euro ($61,242 USD).
